In the year 2001 there were 838 births, 414 females and 423 males. The majority of the births, 675, were at UHHS Geauga Regional, 151 were at Middlefield Care Center and there were 12 home births.

There were 674 deaths recorded in Geauga County for 2001. The Health District’s Medical Director reviews all death certificates and compiles statistics listing the most common causes of death.
