There were 1,327 births, 673 males and 654 females. Of all births, 1,278 were at UHHS Geauga Medical Center, 135 were at Middlefield Care Center and there were 14 home births.

There were 691 deaths recorded in Geauga County for 2006. The Health District’s Medical Director reviews all death certificates and compiles statistics listing the most common causes of death.
