There were 1,272 births, 651 males and 621 females. Of all births, 1,140 were at UH Geauga Medical Center, 116 were at the Middlefield Care Center and there were 16 births at private homes in Geauga County.

There were 612 deaths recorded in Geauga County for 2009. The Health District’s Medical Director reviews all death certificates and compiles statistics listing the most common causes of death.
